Meet The Doctors
Dao Cao, DDS
Dr. Dao Cao, the creator and owner of Serenity Dental Spa, has been practicing dentistry for over twenty years in both the private and hospital settings. Dr. Cao graduated Cum-Laude from Jersey City State College in 1995 with a double major in Chemistry and Biology. Dr. Cao attended New York University, College of Dentistry, and received her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree in 1999.
She then continued her post-doctorate training with a General Practice Residency Program at Jersey City Medical Center. During this time, she received extensive training in all aspects of comprehensive dentistry as well as in the treatment of medically compromised patients.
Dr. Cao has been working at St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Paterson as the Director of the General Practice Residency Program since 2006. She is an active member of the American Dental Association.
Dr. Cao resides in Lafayette, NJ with her husband Kurt and two sons, Vincent and Anthony. Dr. Cao enjoys volunteering her time to promote oral healthcare and participating in career day at local schools.
Dr. Murphy graduated from Monmouth University where she received a BA degree in Psychology in 2014. Dr. Murphy attended Rutgers School of Dental Medicine and received her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree in 2018 where she received the Stanley S. Bergen Medal of Excellence. During her time at Rutgers, Dr. Murphy was a peer tutor for clinical dentistry and was a part of the Gamma Pi Delta Prosthodontic Honor Society.
Dr. Murphy went on to complete post-doctorate training with a General Practice Residency at St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center in Paterson, NJ. During this time she received training in all aspects of comprehensive dentistry, including treatment of dental emergencies and medically complex patients. She is also a member of the American Dental Association, New Jersey Dental Association and the Academy of General Dentistry.
Dr. Murphy is passionate about individualized care to all patients and is very excited to be a part of the Serenity Dental Spa team
Shannen Murphy, DMD
Dr. Marmora graduated summa cum laude from St. Peter's University in Jersey City, NJ with a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in biology in 2013. Dr. Marmora attended West Virginia School of Dentistry, and received his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree in 2018. He then continued his post-doctorate training with a General Practice Residency Program at St. Joseph's University Medical Center in Paterson, NJ. During this time, Dr. Marmora received extensive training in all aspects of comprehensive dentistry as well as the treating of medically compromised patients.
Dr. Marmora is available to provide comprehensive and urgent care to all of our existing and new patients. Please join us in welcoming Dr. Marmora to our dental family as he continues the tradition of excellent dental service to our community.
Michael Marmora, DDS
Dr. Jung graduated from Emory University with her Bachelor of Science in Biology and minor in music in 2016. Dr. Jung decided to continue her education and return to the great state of New Jersey by completing her training in dentistry at Rutgers School of Dental Medicine in 2021. While at Rutgers, Dr. Jung was on the Dean’s list 2019, and was on the executive board of Asian American Dental Society. Dr. Jung went on to complete post- doctorate training with a General Practice Residency in general dentistry at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Paterson, NJ. During this time, Dr. Jung trained in comprehensive dentistry which included treatment of dental emergencies, medically complex patients, restorative dentistry. Dr. Jung is a member of ADA and NJDA. During her free time she loves to discover new food around NJ/NY and run in races like NY Brooklyn Half Marathon yearly.
